Occupational Therapy
School Partnership Program
Collaborative OT for Australian Education
The Willow Tree School Partnership Program is a dedicated initiative designed to bring paediatric occupational therapy directly into the heart of the learning environment. By embedding our services within schools, we foster a deep, consistent collaboration between therapists, educators, and families to support students precisely where they grow and learn.
STEP 01
Initial Partnership & Setup
We begin by meeting with school leadership to align goals. The school provides a dedicated space, and we establish the service agreement, identifying families and students who may benefit from the program.
How It Works
A Step-by-Step Partnership Throughout the School Year
STEP 02
Assessment & Integration
The OT observes students in their natural classroom and playground environments. We conduct assessments and hold initial 'Team Around the Child' meetings with families and teachers.
STEP 03
Ongoing Support & Review
Therapy sessions run weekly or fortnightly during school hours. We provide regular teacher coaching, classroom modifications, and progress reviews at the end of each school term.
Services for Schools
Classroom Support
Direct OT intervention within the learning environment. We support students with regulation, fine motor skills, and sensory processing during their natural school routines.
Teacher Coaching
Empowering educators with practical, child-led strategies. We provide professional guidance on classroom modifications and inclusion techniques that benefit all learners.
Student Groups
Targeted small-group sessions focusing on social participation, emotional regulation, and school readiness. These programs foster connection and collective growth.

Sustainable Funding Models
Who Pays?
We aim to keep our school partnership program accessible and transparent. Fees for individual student therapy are typically covered through one of the following arrangements:
NDIS Funding
Private Arrangements
The majority of our families utilise NDIS funding (Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living) to cover on-site therapy sessions and collaborative consultations.
Families may also choose to pay privately. Many private health funds provide rebates for occupational therapy services, depending on your level of cover.
